David Magliano
David Magliano played a lead role in two of the highest-profile pitches of recent times: as Director of Commercial and Marketing at the England 2018 World Cup bid, and as Director of Marketing at the London 2012 organisation, which successfully bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games.
David tells the inside story of running a successful campaign - and shares a first hand account of the mistakes to avoid. Before London 2012, David's previous experience includes Sales and Marketing Director of two low-cost airlines easyJet and Go (which he founded) and 10 years at major advertising and event agencies. David Magliano contributed to the Go's value growth, and raised it from ?100 million to ?400 million in just nine months. David is a non-executive director of Glasses Direct, and a former non-executive director of Dyson. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. David was UK Marketer of the Year in 1999 and 2005, and Global CMO of the Year in 2006. He was awarded an MBE(Member of the Order of the British Empire) in 2006.
